About ME
|
I suppose the reason I've included 'About Me' in the website is to give those who may not know me an idea of who I am and my involvement with charities in the past. This way, you'll get to know a bit about me and my experience in the area of fundraising. I'm originally from Ireland, but I moved over to London to study for a masters in 2009. After finishing the masters, I got a job in London and have been here since. Before getting involved with Brain Tumour Ireland, I had done charity work with different organisations in the past. In 2008 I travelled to Haiti with my university charity, UCD Volunteers Overseas. The year after I was 'elected' to the board of the charity and sat on that for one year as a student representative. Upon moving to London, I got involved with Hanna's Orphanage, a small charity set up in the UK to fundraise for orphanages in Ethiopia. In 2010, I was fortunate enough to be chosen to represent Cass Business School on a trip to Ethiopia with Hanna's Orphanage. I got to visit the orphanages there and helped with morning classes and evening activities. In 2012, I returned to Ethiopia with my mother and visted the orphanages and all the kids I had met there two years previously. This year, I have just started to work with the well known Irish charity, GOAL, in an advisory capacity as they look to build their presence in the UK. And as you know, I am currently helping Brain Tumour Ireland raise much needed funds and awareness for their newly established charity. Brain Tumour Ireland is a charity that I really believe in and want to help out - especially since a very good friend of mine and his family set it up. So please donate to this campaign as the charity and I would really appreciate it. Thank you! |
